On June 2, 2017, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) issued policy S&C 17-30 requiring Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals and Long Term Care Hospitals to reduce Legionella risk in Healthcare Facility Water Systems to Prevent Cases and Outbreaks of Legionnaires’ Disease.
